About the Role

Essential Functions:
Recruit, interview, hire, train, and manage staff
Ensure all necessary documents are finalized for admin and collaboration needs
Cultivate relationships and pursuing collaborations with community partners
Managing the budget by forecasting and tracking expenses and revenue
Self assessing programs to make sure they are meeting internal or external grant expectations
Seamlessly schedule both in person and virtual meetings
Input and update confidential data using software such as Microsoft Excel and Campsite
Input financial expenses and update corresponding software
Intake new collaborators and update corresponding documents
Model the Black Lemonade mission and vision
Ensure safe and risk free environment at all times
Act as a role model to campers and employees at all times
Exhibit good judgment, enthusiasm for the activities and strong awareness of safety
Assist the Camp Counselors and teachers by ensuring tools and supplies are readily available
Know and understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the program
Know, enforce and follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp and all program areas
Know where all campers are at all times and utilize the buddy system and frequent head counts to ensure campers are always accounted for
Assist with controlling campers and groups to ensure each camper is safe and deal with discipline problems based on given guidelines, while keeping the Executive Director informed of all concerns
Follow the weekly-prepared schedule to ensure that all campers participate in all activities; fill free time with activities appropriate for the group
Participate actively and assist in leading in opening and closing ceremonies daily and complete other duties as assigned
Greet and communicate with parents through camper recognition or notes about camp experiences
Submit reports, on time, as required
Attend staff meetings and training sessions

Requirements

License/Certification:

  • First Aid Certification (Required)

  • CPR Certification (Required)

Qualifications:

  • This position requires an individual with an interest in working with students in a camp setting with the desire to be a positive influence. S/he must have the ability to work outdoors for up to 5 hours per day and be able to move freely and quickly through the building and outdoor site

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community

  • Must present a professional image and possess conflict resolution skills, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Previous experience or coursework in working with children and/or recreation preferred
