About the Role:
Join our dynamic team for the HBCU Superhero Tour Summer Camp and inspire middle and high school students as they embark on an exciting journey to learn leadership, HBCU history, and community service. This unique program combines travel and immersive activities to create unforgettable experiences for campers.
Responsibilities:
Model Black Lemonade core values throughout all program activities and interactions.
Follow the Black Lemonade curriculum and actively facilitate leadership, history, and community service sessions at each destination.
Ensure a safe, risk-free environment for all participants during travel and camp activities.
Act as a role model, demonstrating enthusiasm, strong awareness of safety, and good judgment.
Maintain the health, happiness, and safety of assigned campers during travel and at destinations.
Know, enforce, and understand all emergency procedures for the program.
Utilize frequent head counts and the buddy system to ensure accountability for all campers.
Address behavior or discipline concerns while keeping the Program Director informed of issues.
Lead activities, songs, and games during free time or transitions between activities.
Actively participate in opening and closing ceremonies and other group events.
Provide daily updates and communication to parents, recognizing camper achievements.
Record and document daily activities for social media postings and program archives.
Submit all required reports on time.
Attend pre-camp training and weekly staff meetings as needed.
Provide mentorship and guidance to any volunteers or interns assisting with the program.
Qualifications:
Prior experience working with youth in a camp, educational, or travel setting.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
A passion for leadership, history, and community service.
Flexibility and adaptability to work in dynamic travel environments.
CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.

Position Title: Camp Counselor – Tour Program
Location: Multiple States (Travel Required: Georgia, North Carolina, Alabama, Louisiana, Washington, D.C., Tennessee, Florida)
Employment Type: Seasonal (June 2nd - July 23rd, 2025)
Hours: Monday - Wednesday (Travel & Camp Sessions)
Compensation: TBD (Travel expenses covered)
